QuickPOS

Holding a sale

While the cart has items, tap the Hold Sale button to the left of the Charge button. A dialog opens where you can add an optional note — for example "Table 3 — waiting on drinks" or a customer name. Tap Confirm Hold and the cart is saved and cleared, ready for the next customer.

💡
What gets saved: The complete cart — all items, quantities, options and any discount applied — is preserved exactly as it was, including the service mode.

Resuming a held sale

When held sales exist and the cart is empty, the Hold button changes to a green Resume (n) button showing how many sales are on hold. Tap it to open the Held Sales panel.

Each held sale card shows the note, the time it was held, a summary of the items and the total. Tap Resume to restore it to the cart. The held sale is removed from the list and you are taken straight back to the POS with the cart fully populated.

Searching held sales

A search box at the top of the Held Sales panel filters by note text or product name — useful when several sales are on hold and you need to find a specific customer's order quickly.

Discarding a held sale

Tap Discard on any held sale card to remove it permanently. This is useful if a customer leaves without ordering. There is no confirmation step so take care — if you discard a sale accidentally you will need to re-add the items manually.

Held sales persist across restarts

Held sales are saved to disk automatically. If the app is closed, the till PC restarts or there is a power outage, all held sales are fully restored when QuickPOS reopens. There is no risk of losing a parked order.

You can safely close QuickPOS at the end of service with held sales still on hold — they will be waiting when you open it again the next day.
