Settings
All configuration for your business, currency, tax, display, staff and data.
Opening Settings
Tap the burger menu and select Settings. An admin PIN is required. Settings are organised into tabs.
General tab
Business
Business Type — choose between Hospitality (café, restaurant, takeaway) and Retail (shop, boutique, store). This controls the service mode labels, which modes are available and certain field names throughout the app. After changing, refresh the page for the new labels to take effect.
Business Name — appears on receipts and the customer display.
The address, phone, tax ID and website fields are all optional and appear on printed receipts.
Receipt
Receipt Footer — a message printed at the bottom of every receipt, e.g. "Thank you for visiting!" or your Wi-Fi password.
Currency
Set the currency symbol and whether it appears before or after the amount.
Products
Products per page — how many product cards appear on the main grid before paginating. Default is 24.
Low stock threshold — the stock level at which a product shows a low stock warning. Can be overridden per product.
Security
Auto-lock — lock the POS after a period of inactivity. Options: Never, 5, 10, 30 minutes or 1 hour. The timer resets on any user interaction.
Payments tab
All payment configuration lives here. See the Payments page for full details. Key settings:
- ✓ Enable or disable Cash, Card Manual and Split payment methods individually
- ✓ Enable Stripe Terminal and enter your reader credentials
- ✓ Enable Customer Self-Ordering menu
Tax tab
See the Tax Rates page for full details. Key settings:
- ✓ Enable Tax — turn tax calculation on or off entirely
- ✓ Prices include tax — toggle between tax-inclusive and tax-exclusive pricing
- ✓ Tax rates — add multiple named rates with different percentages

Business tab — Receipt Printing
Configure your thermal receipt printer in Settings → Business → Receipt Printing:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Paper width | Match this to your printer's paper roll — 58mm (narrow) or 80mm (standard). This sets the character width used when formatting receipts. |
| Printer | A dropdown populated with all printers installed on the till PC. Select your thermal receipt printer. If left on Auto-detect, QuickPOS will find the most likely receipt printer automatically. |
| Test Print | Saves the current settings and sends a test receipt to the selected printer immediately. |
| Auto-print on sale | When enabled, a receipt is automatically sent to the printer when the cashier taps Done at checkout — no Print button press needed. |
