Receipt printers
QuickPOS prints receipts using your browser's built-in print dialog. Any printer your operating system can see will work. The receipt layout is optimised for thermal roll printers.
Recommended: 80mm thermal printers
Reliable workhorse. USB and Ethernet. Widely available, good driver support on Mac, Windows and Linux.
Higher speed, Ethernet and WiFi. Excellent for busy counters. Industry standard.
USB and Ethernet. Good Mac support. Auto-cutter included. Popular in hospitality.
Budget-friendly. USB, Serial and Ethernet. Solid for lower volume businesses.
Barcode scanners
QuickPOS supports any USB or Bluetooth HID barcode scanner. The scanner must operate in keyboard emulation mode — most scanners do this by default. Point the scanner at a product barcode and it is added to the cart instantly.
Recommended scanners
USB. Reliable, fast, reads damaged barcodes well. Good for retail environments.
USB. Industry standard. Fast scan rate. Excellent durability.
Bluetooth. Cordless for mobile use. Pairs with Mac, Windows or tablets.
Most budget USB scanners from Amazon work fine with QuickPOS if they operate in keyboard mode.
Stripe Terminal card readers
The following Stripe Terminal readers work with QuickPOS's integrated Terminal payment flow. All connect over Wi-Fi and are registered in your Stripe dashboard. See Payments for setup instructions.

Card manual — no reader required
If you don't have a Stripe Terminal reader, use Card Manual mode in checkout. Process the card on any device — a standalone terminal, SumUp, iZettle, or Stripe's Tap to Pay app on iPhone — and confirm in QuickPOS. No hardware purchase required.
Customer displays
QuickPOS supports two customer-facing displays, both accessible from any screen on your local network by opening a browser.

Any screen that can run a browser works — a spare tablet, an old laptop, a TV with a Chromecast, or a dedicated display plugged into the till PC. No additional hardware purchase required.
Order Display (Kitchen / Stockroom)
The Order Display runs at /order-display in any browser on the local network. Works on a kitchen monitor, a wall-mounted tablet, or any spare screen. See Order Display for full details.
Till hardware
QuickPOS runs as a native desktop app on Mac, Windows and Linux. Any reasonably modern computer works as a till. Recommended minimum specifications:
